Kombucha is a blend of water, tea, sugar and a living culture called a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). It was first brewed over 2,000 years ago, and legend has it that Samurai Warriors carried it to energise them in battle.
It's a slightly tart, slightly sweet, crisp, bubbly probiotic drink, full of gut friendly bacteria and incredibly good for your gut and general health.
How's it made?
Brew organic loose-leaf Chun Mee tea with filtered water and sugar for about an hour.
The SCOBY has some fun with the tea sugar, breaking it down and infusing the brew with its gut-friendly bacteria.
After a week or so, remove the SCOBY and add natural, organic flavours like ginger, blackcurrant or elderflower.
Bottle it up and enjoy!
